`To accept good advice is but to increase one's own ability'
Johann Wolfqang von Goethe
How comfortable are your friends to advice you and offer suggestions? You may not know the value of suggestions and advices, until the day you don't receive them! The quality of your life depends on the quality of your decisions and the quality of your decisions depends is you have considered all the perspective concerning the issue. You may be best person to take the decision, but you may not have all the facts and information to take the correct decision. Sometimes you may be blind to consider other options available. Or your ego may not permit you to be open to others' views and ideas.
One trait I notice among very great people is their openness to others' views. They encourage others' views so that they feel encouraged to offer their views.
Check for the following responses in you when you receive views from others:
- Body language or facial expression to signal that you are not keen to listen to them.
- Lack of acknowledgement.
- Internally feeling irritated or angry however mild it may be.
- Not thanking them for their ideas and views.
- Any other
.
Honestly audit this aspect of your personality.
