Image: Broad Minded

It is a narrow mind which cannot look at a subject from various points of view.

George Eliot

The term ‘broad minded’ means being tolerant of the opinions and behaviour of others which may be unconventional or are different from our own.

I am sure you would have come across some people who are broad minded and this quality would have attracted you to them. Take a piece of paper and write down five characteristics which you noticed in them. After understanding this quality, rate yourself on how you fair on these qualities and how you want to develop your image and personality with respect to this aspect.

The other day I was in a function. The crowd was much more than the hall could accommodate and the dining hall was very small. I noticed many invitees getting restless; some of them were complaining about the quality of chairs. But I found one person volunteering his help to the host. He was fetching chairs lying outside the hall. I also noticed him in the dining hall serving food. At the end, he hardly had any food. But he wore a pleasant expression on his face. When the host was expressing his regret, he simply said in functions like this one cannot expect ideal conditions!

He is a broad minded person!
