The word firm is an adjective which means not yielding easily
under pressure, solid and hard. A firm person will not be moved or shaken easily. He will be unchanging and resolute once he is convinced that he is right.
In order to succeed, you have to take certain firm decisions in life. You should believe that you have a right to be firm and not yielding to external pressure. Once you are convinced that you are right, you should know how to convince others that you are going to be firm no matter what the opposition is going to be.
A firm person is not obstinate, aggressive and unreasonable. He is assertive and will be flexible when he gets convinced. He will yield when he is proved to be wrong.
Being a firm person enhances your image as an assertive person. When you buckle in due to external pressure, you may display an image of a mentally weak person not sure of his own stand.
Being firm is an attractive personality trait. List the name of a person whom you know is firm and try to duplicate his mind set. Observe how he displays his firmness through his various actions!
