[Time-Management] Arise, awake and take charge!

Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there.

Josh Billings

I liked the simplicity of the above quotation and was impressed how apt is the example to explain what perseverance is! Sometimes we easily give up when faced with slightest difficulty. But the feature which distinguishes the good from the great is their killer instinct and the never give up attitude. I am not tired of quoting Mahatma Gandhi. His first freedom movement was in the year 1919 with the launching of the Non Cooperation Movement. From 1919 till 1947, he never gave up. For that matter the first Freedom Movement in India was the Sipoy Mutiny in 1857 and it was not until 1947 that free India became a reality. This is the story of the American War of Independence or any freedom struggle.

If you read the life history of Alexander the Great or Napoleon Bonaparte, you will see the same feature. They did not get up on fine morning and found them famous. It is the do or die attitude. Or better still `do and die' attitude! It is not only the determination, but the intensity of the determination which will carry us through our struggle to victory. We will have insurmountable difficulties and depletion of any resource. But the only resource we should not lose is our self confidence and self determination.

It is this mindset which gave the achievers an edge over others.
