Time is a limited resource. But, our capacity is un limited. Our imagination is unlimited. The opportunity that exists in the world is unlimited. The demand for new products and services is unlimited. The scope for self-improvement is unlimited. The limit to which we can stretch ourselves is unlimited.
So, the secret of our success lies in how we are going to use our limited time to explore the unlimited opportunity that surrounds us. Since time is the only limited resource, we should be very wise and intelligent in how and where to invest it. We should know how to manage the various resources that are entrusted to us, including the human resource.
We should be good in `people management portfolio' to succeed in life. This consists of the following components:
- How to identify people with such qualities and traits which will be of use to our project?
- How to empower and keep them motivated to be in our team?
- How to sustain their level of motivation?
- How to fuse their personal mission with our mission so that we are bonded through a common mission resulting in a cohesive team?
- How to train them and make them effective so that they are able to do what they are expected to do most effectively?
- How to delegate more and more to our people so that our time is released for pursuing tasks, which are our specialty?
We and our people is a team. In a machine unless all the components perform well, the machine will not function well. In the same way unless all the people in our team are effective, our team will not be effective.
