Healthy Ratio, Healthy Life!

I hear a lot of talk about the great sacrifices involved in running, but personally I think it's a matter of organizing your time efficiently.  I can run in the amount of time most people spend watching television.  It's been worked out that the average person spends about three to four hours watching television every night.  Well, in one and a half hours, I can do a hell of a lot of good work.  If that's missing out, it doesn't worry me.  If running means not going to night clubs, not drinking excessively and not smoking, that's fine.  I don't like that sort of life anyway.

You would have noticed the relevance of ratios in many aspects of our life. The strength of a building is decided by the ratio of the cement concrete mixture. The taste of good food depends on the ratio in which the ingredients are mixed. You also say a person is handsome or beautiful depending upon the ratio of his limbs with reference to each other. Even when we construct a house, we care about the ratio of the various rooms such as the kitchen, the living room etc.

The same applies to our life. We have only a limited time at our disposal and a lot of responsibilities to discharge. If we do not plan our time carefully, we will end up burning our time without proportionate results. Like any other parameter of life, we need to ensure that our life has the ratio we talked about above. We need to work, we need to enjoy, we need to spend time with our family and friends, we need to develop ourselves, and we need to focus on our future and at the same time we should not lose our balance!

Too much work and too little fun is as dangerous as too much fun and too little work. We need to be sensitive that this moment will not come gain and we only live once in our life. We need to notice and care for imbalances in life. We need to identify if we are missing out anything in our anxiety to realize our ambitions in life.

When you get some time, think about the word `ratio' and relate the same to your life and check if your life is well balanced. Check if there is some imbalance to be corrected and consider how you are going to do the same.
