Life is like a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use.
Charles Schultz
We have much more talent than we have displayed. Normally we accept our present performance as our capacity. But deep within us is hidden our true capacity waiting to be exploited. We do not use some of our talents and skill since we are not aware of the same.
One example is lack of assertiveness. Assertiveness is our ability to persist our point of view in spite of resistance from others. We think that we are not capable of being assertive. But when we were children, we were assertive. We never stopped asking repeatedly what we wanted and ultimately succeeded. Next time watch your two year old in action and you will understand what I mean! But over a period of time we stopped being assertive and became either submissive or aggressive. But our natural assertive instinctive is deep inside us.
Another example is our creativity. We were creative when we were young, but gave up as we grew older. Our creative talent is still inside us. Similarly we have various other talents and resources which we never use.
We have to explore ourselves. We need to set aside sometime and search inside us. If we don't use our hidden talent, it will go waste. As I said elsewhere, what is used less will become useless!
