`Discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability'

Roy L.Smith

Talent is different from ability. We should have the ability to use the talent. The more and more we develop this ability, the more and more we make the talent relevant.

You may have the talent to sing, but unless you develop the ability to sing a melodious song, your talent will not be appreciated.

In some electronic instruments there a facility to `disable' a particular facility. For example you can `disable' Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. When you disable Wi-Fi in a mobile phone, you cannot transfer a file. You may have the resource, but will not be able to do so. For disabling this facility, there is a toggle switch.

Discipline or indiscipline is the toggle switch through which you can disable or activate your ability. If you don't want to use your talent, simply follow the path of indiscipline! We have to learn a lot from people who have achieved great things in life. Read about Olympic stars on how they follow the path of discipline to win a gold medal. It is not that they have talent, but they are disciplined.

We can put this in a formula: talent plus discipline is equal to ability!

Decide today if you want to disable your talent!
