Fake it and make it happen! This is the advice I give to people who come to me for counseling and mentoring.

There are occasions in our life when we feel down, helpless and discouraged. These are the occasions when we have to prepare our mindset suitably so that we are emotionally stronger to handle the situation.

See if you could do the following:

·         If you feel discouraged, fake as though you are very courageous.

·         If you feel you don’t have a positive self image, fake as though you have.

·         If you feel you are down, feel as though you are bold and energetic.

·         If you feel you are going to fail, fake as though you are going to succeed.

The mind and body are parts of the same system. Try positive self affirmation such as: ‘I am a courageous person’, ‘I am a strong person’, ‘I am a bold and energetic person’, ‘I am going to succeed, come what may’ etc. Repeat these words as frequently as possible and soon it will become true as far as you are concerned.

Remember that you need a strong mental foundation to succeed in life and no one can give you this except yourself!
