If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way!

One quality which distinguishes great people from ordinary is their attitude to their work. Whatever they undertake to do, they do it so well that it becomes a benchmark for others to follow.
While I write this piece, my memory goes back to 1970s when I was a junior officer in the Personal Department of an organisation. We had about fifteen cars and each car had a dedicated driver. I remember one driver who had an obsession to maintain his car very neatly. He used to have a clean white cloth in his hand and ask anyone passing by to wipe the car with the white cloth. Obviously there will be no dust on the car. The driver will carry a proud face and challenge anyone to find his car dirty or dusty at any time!
Whether the job is small or big, the basic attitude and character of the person doing the job will decide how he will execute the work. With positive attitudes such as dedication, commitment, sincerity, eye for details, involvement etc, one can grow to any extent.
Next time when you are parking your car, just check the position of the tyres to ensure you have done this small job in a great way!
