[Time-Management] And here's the balance for the year!

Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline

 Jim Collins

We need role models to follow. Role models need not be great people like Nelson Mandela. They could be ordinary people who have impressed us in some way or other. We can have a role model for each of our roles such as executive, father, son, friend etc. Once we have a role model, we need to understand their philosophy and follow their life style if we want to be what they are. Once this decision is made, we have to follow their footsteps.

For example, if we admire Mahatma Gandhi and accept him as our role model, we have to accept ahimsa, satyagraha, nonviolence etc, which he followed. If we continue our own life style which is opposite of what Mahatma Gandhi followed, but still want to have him as our role model, then we are in a problem.

I came across a lady in her late sixties who has a role model and she has all the admiration for that person. But the problem with her is, while she admires her role model, she is not willing to follow that personĂ¢€™s life style. The net result is she is getting upset with herself!

Check if you also have this problem!
