Nine Requisites for Contented Living
`There are nine requisites for contented living: HEALTH enough to make work a pleasure; WEALTH enough to support your needs; STRENGTH enough to battle with difficulties and forsake them; GRACE enough to confess your sins and overcome them; PATIENCE enough to toil until some good is accomplished; CHARITY enough to see some good in your neighbor; LOVE enough to move to be useful and helpful to others; FAITH enough to make real the things of God; HOPE enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future'
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
If you think for movement, it is not the strongest, wealthiest and the most intelligent who are happy. These factors are important in our life. But they alone cannot give us permanent happiness. Contentment does not and cannot come from material possession. There is no limit for our desires and wants and if we really have a good idea and work hard with an appropriate strategy, there is no limit for our earning. Today we are living in a world of opportunity and our capacity to acquire wealth and the scope for the same is enormous.
True contentment and happiness comes from a satisfied mind. We may be in the world's costliest and the most comfortable holiday resort in the cozy comfort of everything. Still we may not be fully happy and contented. Another person may be in a small hut disturbed by mosquitoes and sleeping on the floor, but still be very happy and contented.
Over this weekend list all the above nine factors and see if you have them!
