`Men stumble over pebbles, never over mountains'
Emilie Cady
The little mistakes that we commit will land us in serious problems than major mistakes. We lose our temper and lose control on ourselves. We use words which may destroy years of friendship. We may lose a good customer due to momentary outbursts. Life is like an embroidery work and we have to be very meticulous in dealing with it. Next time you watch an artist at work and you will understand his eye for details. It is the ability to attend to details that distinguishes the great from the ordinary.
You learn a lot from international sports events, be it cricket, football, racing, hockey or any game for that matter. Hours of hard work can be destroyed in a fraction of a second of carelessness. An ace batsman can reach 99 with great difficulty, but get out due to an apish shot. It may be just an edging of an outgoing ball or an half hearted shot which will land the ball straight into the hands of a fielder just waiting for the batsman to commit this silly mistake.
Or watch a chess champion and you will notice how long they think to make a small move. If ever you had met with an accident, you will know that it all happened in a second of careless driving after years of careful driving! At that moment you would have accelerated instead of braking and you would have landed in a serious accident.
A ship is destroyed by a small hole and a man is destroyed by a small bad habit or a bad move.
May be you can ponder over: how many small mistakes you did last week and how they affected you in a major way? How you are going to prevent it in future!
Some say small is beautiful. But some small mistakes are very destructive! Watch out for them!
