Image: Punctuality
âA wise person does at once, what a fool does at last. Both do the same thing; only at different times.â
- Lord Acton
What is your image with reference to respecting time? Are you missing appointments? Are you always in a hurry? Are you always under a tension of catching up with something? Do people trust your timelines? How have these affected the lives of others?
Know beforehand the spread of activities on a day with reference to various appointments. A fair knowledge of time and distance and their inter-relationship is required. Have a buffer while deciding timeframe. If you think that you need 30 minutes to travel, plan for 35 minutes anticipating bad roads and heavy vehicular traffic. It will be useful to arrive at the place a little early â" not too much early â" so that there is no last minute rush.
Follow âtime frameâ which means fixing a start point and an end point for an activity. If the start point is delayed, the end point will be automatically delayed. Also understand the concept of âtime zoneâ which means deciding on a predetermined activity for a specific time frame. Correct anticipation of timeframe and time zone is critical for timekeeping. Non-realistic estimation of time limit will result in a snowballing effect, ultimately leading to late arrivals and missed
appointments.
The above will be very relevant for maintaining your image of punctuality.
