Image: Being in touch with people!

If a man does not make new acquaintances as he advances through life, he will soon find himself left alone; one should keep his friendship in constant repair.

Samuel Johnson

Are you a person who love people and remain in touch with people? Or, are you a person who remembers people only to get some favour from them? Being a people oriented person is an attractive and enviable trait of great people!

This trait is not just an external behaviour. You cannot fake true friendship, love and affection. You have to sincerely care for people. You have to honestly connect with them emotionally. One way to develop this trait is to sincerely take interest in others.

I know a very old lawyer who is a personification of friendship and love. He will have a lot of postcards on his table. Every day he will remember at least ten of his friends and post a letter to them with some message in his own handwriting. It could be their birthday, wedding day or some occasion. Even if there is no such occasion, he will post a card to them saying that he thought of them!

In this era of information technology, it is very easy to maintain relationship with people. With mobile phones and internet, it practically costs you nothing to send messages. All that is required is a honest intention.

Rate yourself on how you fare on this important personality trait!
