[Time-Management] And here's the balance for the year!

7th January 2012

Happiness does not depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude.

Dale Carnegie

While doing any activity, the quality of your mindset is very important. Filled with irritation and anger, you cannot do anything to your full capacity. It is something like a clogged water connection. The flow will not be smooth. If you drive your car with handbrake on, the engine will struggle.

If you are honest and hardworking, you should feel happy. If you follow the road rules, you should feel proud. On the other hand if your mindset is feeling bad when others do not behave like you, you will only feel irritated angry which you should avoid.

Avoid falling into the following mental traps:

I am honest but irritated when I see dishonest people.

I work hard but it pains me to see others lazy.

I follow road rules, but feel irritated when others do not care about the same.

The consequence of the above negative mindset is that you will not be able to be consistent in doing what you are doing.  In fact the chances are that you may feel dejected and give up your resolution to do what is right!

Next time when you wait for the traffic signal even in the midnight, feel excited that you follow the road rules! Do this for everything you do and see the difference in your mindset when others do not do the same!
