In order to shape your future, you have to be willing and able to change your paradigm.
Joel Barker
Log on to any search engine and see the photograph of the telephone instrument we were using some fifty years ago. Do the same with reference to the writing instruments we were using, tape recorder, automobiles, television sets, kitchen equipments, computers, cameras etc. If the same product is offered to you today, will you accept them and pay for it? Obviously no one will!
The same principle applies to the service we offer to others. We may be lawyers, doctors, teachers etc. In this capacity we offer some service or other. Even our service is a product. Organizations constantly redesign their products by introducing new technology. If they fail to do this, they will be out of business.
We are also an organization. We should redesign our products and services. If you are a teacher, you should not teach the same way you did some twenty years ago; if you are a lawyer, you cannot practice the way you did some years ago etc.
The engineering principles behind the automobile may be the same. But the design of the automobile has changed. Similarly you may be teaching the same subject, but the way you present the same should change.
Over this weekend spend some time on how you want to redesign your products and services!
