[Time-Management] Mind, O My Dear Mind!

12th January 2012

Here's another interesting NLP presupposition: `the mind and body are part of the same system'! Whether we are aware of it or not, our mind and body interact with each other and one will influence the other. A healthy mind will give a healthy body and vice versa.

Do a small exercise: bend your body and let your face look down; wrinkle your eyebrows as though you are worried; breathe shallow; let your moth drop down. While you are seated like this, think about an upcoming event tomorrow morning such as your walking to your manager's cabin and asking for a week's leave and notice how you experience this event in your mind.

Now, sit straight and wear a pleasant smile on your face with chin up. Breathe confidently and keep your fingers on your chin and brighten your facial expression. While you are seated in this position, think about the same upcoming event of asking for a week's leave and notice how your experience has changed compared to the previous round! You would have felt confidence in the second round. The only variable is your body posture.

Have you ever walked in a dark lonely midnight with no one around? Haven't you whistled or sang a song to overcome the fear of loneliness? This is how the body is connected to the mind.

A neat dress makes a big difference. A pleasant countenance makes a positive impression and adds to your personality.

Keep thinking about this issue of body and mind link and you can understand this even better.
