10th April 2012
To my e mail newsletter dated 9th April 2012, my good friend Mr. Balasubramanian has sent and interesting observations as follows:
Intentions, Capability and Actions are not mutually exclusive. One follows the other. Unless you have intentions and further, capability to do it, action does not follow. Intentions (genuine) for an action is a must and it is the first and foremost step. Similarly, without intention, no action follows. I would even go one step further. If you have good intentions, though you may not be able to act because of certain constraints, it is good enough. I have seen myself, in my own case, I genuinely wanted to help some people but could not do so due to certain constraints and this brought me good things in life.
Thank you and best regards, Bala
I agree with him totally. We need genuine intentions to trigger an external action. But, as human beings, we are also driven by negative forces such as laziness, dejections, lack of interest etc. When these negative forces dampen our good intentions, we don't act. In order that we also act, we have to `ignite' ourselves. That's what happened in the lives of great people. We can ignite our intentions by asking ourselves power questions such as `What will this intention do for me? How will I be benefited by acting on these intentions? What will I be losing if I don't act on these intentions?'
We should believe in the law of physics: everything has to be caused. Even the gun powder in a bomb will not burst by itself. It has to be ignited!
Also another law of physics says: `every object remains in a state of rest or of uniform motion unless acted upon by an external force'. Our best intentions will remain as intentions unless acted upon!
