`If I have seen farther than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants'
Isaac Newton
Are you using the knowledge others? If you are not, you will not grow!
We need people to share and help us to realise our dreams. In our pursuit to our dreams, there will be areas where we may not have all the expertise and knowledge to reach our goals.
If you analyse great organisations such as Apple Computers, Star Bucks, Sony, Microsoft etc, all these originated from the idea of one man. But it is not that one man who made these organisations possible. They needed the help and cooperation of hundreds and thousands of people. Steve Jobs did not work alone nor did Walt Disney.
Great movements involved the cooperation of hundreds and thousands of people. Mahatma Gandhi started the freedom movement in India. He roped in great leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabai Patel, Rajaji etc who strengthened his movement. Just imagine what would have happened if Mahatma Gandhi had gone about his freedom movement alone!
Over this weekend do an inventory analysis. Take a project you are handling now and list the knowledge and expertise you don't and list the people who have the same. Ask yourself if you are fully using their input and contribution.
