`The pain of discipline is always less than the pain of regret'
Author unknown
Failure is painful as well as discipline. But the pain resulting out of discipline will be temporary and will result in success and celebration. But the pain of regret will be permanent and depressing. We have to choose between the two pains. Since in any case we have undergo one of these two pains, isn't wise to accept the pain arising out of discipline?
Discipline is painful. Getting rid of bad habits is painful. Exercising and keeping fit calls for a discipline and will be painful. Working hard is painful. Getting focused on our goals and saying no to our temptations is painful. Sticking to our critical priorities in life is painful. If we avoid these pains, consider the pain of regret? We will be missing our opportunities and a day will come when it will be too late to redeem what we had allowed to let go.
Time is running out and we live in a highly competitive environment. We can take life as a threat or as an opportunity. If consider life as a threat and keep quiet, it becomes an opportunity to someone else.
Life offers us all the choices. One important choice is to choose between these two pains? Over this weekend, decide which pain you want to choose, the pain of discipline or the pain of regret?
