Ignited Child!

Don't forget that compared to a grownup person every baby is a genius. Think of the capacity to learn! The freshness, the temperament, the will of a baby a few months old!

I wonder how many parents are well informed about the relevance of eating and drinking and how it is related to reading and learning. Recall my example of a queen bee and how it's made? Or log on to a search engine and try to know the food and nutrition habit of a Olympian or a world class baseball player. We should understand that today everything should be globally relevant. If you are a chess player, you need to prepare for a world class standard. This is so for any sports.

Our children are also getting ready for a world class career, be it in education, sports or fine arts.

Parents should understand that the nutrients required for learning is different from the nutrients required for learning. Nutrients required at bone and muscle growth are different from the nutrients required for brain growth. We should know that learning takes place in the brain and if the brain is not healthy, the quality of learning cannot be very high. The quality of the brain is decided by the quality of brain hormones and chemicals. In today's competitive environment children have to read and retain a high amount of information to be successful. Hence the quality of the brain chemicals plays a very important role.

The brain should be fed with nutrients such as unsaturated fats, sugars, complex carbohydrates, vegetables and proteins. Trace elements such as boron, selenium, vanadium and potassium are also very critical ingredients for a healthy brain.

Parents should be aware of what their children eat in the school. With the influence of the television advertisement, what is popular is eaten more than what is nutritious. Junk foods fill the stomach but the brain is starved.

Parents are ill informed about the concept of a balanced diet. It will be a very good idea that parents consult a nutrition expert to know what type of food should be given to the children.

What about drinking to health?
